Senior Scientist:
PrimBio Research Institute is committed to providing innovative technologies and platforms for genetic analysis. We choose the latest technologies with the most efficient workflows available to provide fast, reliable results at affordable prices. In addition, we provide the customized analysis to increase the efficiency of designed experiments. We are well-known in NGS research and service, and we have clients all around the world.
Our lab is CLIA accredited since 2015 and CAP accredited since 2017. We offer RNA sequencing, Exome sequencing, a variety of gene panels sequencing and gene profiling panel. We are a certified Life Technologies Ampliseq Exome sequencing provider that offers targeted exome and ampliseq exome sequencing services including library preparation, alignment, and variant calling. We are now looking for a senior scientist. This is a full-time position and 40-hrs per week. He/she needs to have a Ph.D or MD in biology or related field. Experiences in genetics and bioinformatics are preferred.
Essential Job Functions:
1) Assisting in performing experiments or performing experiments independently
2) Keeping the lab organized and clean
3) Managing the proper use and maintenance of laboratory equipment, locating and following standards, methods, and SOPs as required
4) Capability in design and validate new clinical tests and SOP development
5) Tracking inventories
6) Other work associated with daily lab operation
7) Communicating with clients in sample receiving and project process if necessary
Job Requirements:

2) Good communication skills in both written and oral form
3) Need to be flexible in working at night and weekend
4) Willingly to learn
5) Multi-tasking
6) Ability to read and comprehend English and comprehend and follow oral and/or written instructions
7) Abstract thinking to drive development
8) Ability to handle high stress levels due to working conditions and possible irregular hours
9) Ability to recognize potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily secretions, and/or hazardous chemicals in the workplace
Degree Requirements:
A Ph.D or MD in biology or related field with:
o 60 semester hours including 24 semester hours of medical lab technology; or
o 60 semester hours including 24 hours of science that includes 6 hours chemistry, 6 hours biology, and 12 hours chemistry or biology or,
o Any combination and laboratory training that includes either:
1) completion of a clinical lab training program or
2) 3 months training in each specialty in which high complexity testing is performed
